I woke up this morning around 6:45 and rushed to pack last-minute items and get ready for the trip.
On the way to the airport, I had a banana, but forgot to take a picture. Oh well, I think y’all can imagine it if you think hard enough.
We made it just in time to board our flight. We cut it a little close, but we made it!
The only “free” snacks Delta offers now are Biscoff cookies or peanuts. I chose the peanuts because I was wanting something salty after that banana.
My parents were kind enough to let me stop on our way to the plane and get a Chick-fil-A chicken biscuit and a fruit cup. I have a weakness for Chick-fil-A.
I think it was the perfect airplane meal for me. Just wait until you see my sister’s “fruit and cheese plate.”
Second try. A little blurry, but good enough! :)
Coming in for a landing. When I saw this view, I knew I would be taking LOTS of pictures the whole trip. So what if I look like a tourist?! I am one!!!
The mountains here are just gorgeous. I’m in love.
There was no jetway, so we got to walk down the stairs. Notice I said “got to,” and not “had to.” I thought it was so cool! Can you tell I don’t travel much?!
Another first—the airport was an open-air airport. I thought that was awesome, too.
The runway. I think there’s only that one.
When we got to our hotel, we were greeted with fruit drinks. Yum!
Our section of the hotel is farthest to the left.
The hotel is divided into several buildings. It’s pretty big.
Can’t wait to enjoy those chairs tomorrow!
The water is so BLUE and perfect.
This picture does not portray how HUGE this lizard is. I’m hoping it’s the only one here, but I think that’s pretty doubtful.
I love all the trees here.
I’ve never seen an Infinity Pool in person before. It’s beautiful.
We’re in the Club building, so we had dinner in the lounge tonight. It’s supposed to be “light appetizers,” but there was more than enough to make a meal out of. I think the beef skewers were my favorite. The other meat is fish, but it was kind of dry.
I had a BIG glass of lemon water with dinner.
I know this picture is pretty dark, but I love it.
It got so windy tonight that the hot tub was sounding pretty good to Emily and me.
Can you see all those lights in the way back? They look so pretty at night.
Here I am enjoying some desert. They had spoons of something yummy (I forgot what it was, but it was good), and I also had one of the brownies. I shared the rest.
When we got back, this plate of fruit had appeared. I ate about half of the grapes (oops!).
Alright, I’m going to go join the rest of my family in slumberland now. It’s been a long, fun day! See you all tomorrow!!!
