Finally, I feel like I had a breakthrough with the Shred! I just felt so much stronger during the strength and ab intervals, and during the cardio intervals I could feel myself pushing harder. I did the “advanced” version of every move except the push-ups, and didn’t feel like I was going to die. Of course, I can already feel myself getting sore, but that’s okay. Let’s hope I can keep this up!
Breakfast was an old classic that I haven’t had in a while.
I spread 1/2 tbs. PB on each half of the whole wheat bagel. I didn’t eat all the grapes at breakfast, but kind of munched on them throughout the day.
They also made their way into my lunch.
I made some “healthified” chicken salad. First, I chopped up some chicken in the food processor. Then I added some chopped onion and celery and halved grapes. Finally, I mixed it all up with 2 tbs. plain nonfat Greek yogurt. Oh, and I threw in a hard boiled egg at the last minute. This was so good and I love using nonfat Greek yogurt rather than mayo. Didn’t miss the mayo one bit!
I had it as an open-face sandwich on a sandwich thing, alongside some carrots and hummus.
This afternoon, Mom wanted to go to the Super H Mart. Since I liked it so much when I went on Wednesday, I agreed. While there, I figured out why my parents love to go there on Saturdays: sample heaven! There were so many samples, I kept thinking I should have skipped lunch. Well their samples worked well on me, and I ended up getting some rice cakes (so good and only 60 calories per serving) and some Udon noodles. We also got some good produce. There are some interesting things at this store, like this (don’t look if you are easily grossed-out):
Yes, that’s pickled pig skin. Oh trust me, this isn’t even the worst of what the Super H Mart holds!
We’d picked up some sweet potatoes while there, so they made their way into our dinner. I had a burger sans bun with a ketchup, a little goat cheese, and lots of chopped onion. And for some greens, I had some butter lettuce on the side.
I’m a little embarrassed about the excess of ketchup.
I let my dinner digest a little, and then I did the Shred. I already told you about that, though :)
For my post-workout snack, I enjoyed one of the bananas we picked up today with some TJ’s Almond Butter. I’m a little sad because our AB is almost gone :( I’m trying to convince my dad to go to TJ’s with me sometime next week.
My mom was also nice enough to take me to get a few more cookware items for school. I’m starting to get really excited about having a kitchen this year. I think I’ve pretty much got everything I’ll need like pots, pans, spatulas, big spoons, a can opener, etc. Is there anything you think I may have overlooked that I may need? I hope you all are having a great weekend!!!
