Okay, I just did half of this blog post, and then my computer overheated (silly fan is broken), so this will have to be quick so I can get some sleep for my first day of classes tomorrow.
Around 1:00, I was getting pretty hungry, so I heated up two veggie burgers from TJ’s, and put them in a TJ’s whole wheat pita bread with a LC wedge.
This was the first time trying the TJ’s veggie burgers, and I really liked them. I have to say, though, they’re not like the Boca burgers. I can actually be fooled by Boca burgers into believing I’m eating meat when I put it on a bun with ketchup and some cheese, but these were totally different. There were lots of potatoes and corn and green beans, and were a teeny bit spicy from peppers (I don’t like peppers, but I could overlook them).
I savored every bite.
After lunch, I needed to go see my adviser to get my schedule. Since I was already out and sweaty, I decided to take a nice stroll around town again. I just absolutely love walking around town. It’s probably in my top 5 favorite places in the world. I walked around for about 2.5 hours (including stopping in shops). I found this set of pretty antique salad plates for $9.
I’d heard there would be free t-shirts given away at the Convocation that was at 4 today, so I went to that. The convocation was inside, and it looked like it was going to rain the whole time. Of course as soon as we got let out, it started to downpour. I stood under a tent avoiding the rain and waiting for a free t-shirt for about half an hour. I swear only a college student would do that!
The campus got flooded, but the rain eventually stopped and I made my way back up to my apartment.
I was so thirsty by the time I got back to my room. Luckily I’d had the foresight to put this Strawberry Powerade Zero in the fridge before I left, so it was nice and cold for me when I got back. I’d gotten one of these free when I ran the Peachtree, so I knew it would be good!
After some drying off, I was ready to get dinner going. I decided I needed to give this new Ranch flavored salad spritzer and use up some of my lettuce I had in the fridge. I also decided I should use up some leftovers instead of making anything new tonight.
I washed and chopped up the lettuce, and added some chopped onion and cucumber, and a tbs. hummus. The ranch salad spritzer wasn’t exactly what I was expecting. It’s basically watered-down ranch dressing, which is a little weird. It’s not bad, but I can’t say I’ll be buying it again.
The main part of the meal made up for the iffy salad, though. I used the rest of the stir fry I made Saturday, and added some leftover tofu from last night. These went together so well (after all, they had the same sauce recipe!). I think the stir fry was actually better tonight than it was Saturday. I guess it was just missing something, and the tofu filled that void.
On my new plate, of course!
After last night’s fiasco with the Shred and the dreaded hair in the carpet, I’ve decided I’ll just try to get exercise from something other than the Shred. The main reason I started the Shred challenge was to get myself motivated to work out, and it’s accomplished that goal. Today when I was walking around, I kept thinking how this time last year, I would have avoided walking outside at all costs. I’d have been cooped up in my bed watching tv all day long, but that’s not what I did today, and I’m proud of myself for that!
Tomorrow I have 4 classes back-to-back. I’m don’t really like my schedule, but that’s just how it’s going to be. It’s just one semester, and I’ll get through it. I hope you all have a great day tomorrow, and I’ll see you at the end of it with a full report!
