First of all, I want to thank you all for sharing your thoughts on dealing with unwanted advice. Basically, I just need to get over it ;-) Although I did really like my aunt’s advice to act really interested and ask them to explain what they mean. I’ll definitely be using that one in the future.
I was running a little late this morning, and grabbed a Kashi TLC bar on my way out the door. This was actually on my meal plan, so it wasn’t a big deal, but I was really hungry for something more. I just didn’t have time.
Well that was just the beginning of a “hungry day.” Yes, I had one of those days where you just can’t get full.
I was really hungry for lunch, but again I was rushed and just had to settle for the sandwich and carrot with hummus I’d planned out.
After my last class of the day, I came back and was feeling really snacky. I actually don’t have any of my usual go-to snacks, like Sun Chips or, well, that’s about it. I just love them! Yes, they are relatively healthy as far as chips go, but my problem is that I like to eat half the bag in one sitting. I’ll probably get some eventually, but I’m glad I didn’t have any around today.
Instead, I settled on another carrot with hummus. The carrots are actually a lot bigger than the one in the picture looks.
The bad thing about making food for one person is that there are usually leftovers. So that’s what I had for dinner tonight.
Leftover stir fry from Monday. I did add some chicken for some protein. It was good, but some of the rice cakes didn’t get soft all the way through. That’s another bad thing about the regular rice cakes. Hopefully I can get some of the mini version next time!
For dessert, I had this Peanut Butter POMx Bar POM Wonderful sent me.
I’m going to be honest (as I always am) and tell you that I did not like this at first. However, I was still really hungry, and decided to keep eating it. The flavor actually grew on me. I loved the peanuts in it, and loved the dark chocolate coating. I do love that you can get the benefits of Pomegranate juice in bar form, which makes me feel less guilty about the calories.
Now I’m feeling the fullest I’ve felt all day, and am going to get a shower and get in bed. Obviously, I am not the average college student. I just can’t stay up late anymore! [I’m such an old lady!]
