My room mate, C, and I did end up going on a walk last night. We walked for probably about 45 minutes. Then we came back to the apartment and watched trashy TV (that’s pretty much all we do—classy, I know!). I didn’t end up going to bed until after 2.
I woke up this morning about 9:45, and had an awful headache (not a hangover, I promise). I had also had a bad dream, and my neck was in pain. Not the best way to wake up! I immediately got out of bed and took 2 Ibuprophen. I also decided it was a perfect morning to try out this POMx Iced Coffee from POM Wonderful.
If you’ve been reading for a while, you know I am not a fan of hot drinks, so I never drink coffee and hardly ever drink hot tea. However, I do really enjoy the flavor of coffee.
So this was the perfect solution for me. I knew when I saw this that I would love it, and I was right.
I have a chocolate flavored ice coffee to try left, and I can’t wait to try it, too.
Along with my headache, I woke up with a huge appetite. I decided to make a biscuit with the whole wheat pancake mix, and some grits.
I added a little shake of garlic powder to the biscuit dough, and it turned out really good. For the grits, I added the usual 2 LC wedges and a pinch of sea salt. I was actually still hungry, but knew I’d be having a big dinner, so I didn’t need anymore for breakfast.
After breakfast, it was about 11, and I started cleaning the apartment because my sister+BIL & mom+dad were supposed to be coming up at 5. So I cleaned the kitchen, washed my dishes, vacuumed, wiped down tables, took the trash out, cleaned the bathroom, tidied my room, and then finally did my laundry.
By the time I got my laundry in the washer, it was almost 2, and I realized I hadn’t had lunch. Weird, since I was still hungry after breakfast, yet I managed to (almost) forget about lunch.
I needed something quick, so I heated up some leftover quinoa with chicken. One thing that’s strange about this is that I don’t like the smell of the actual quinoa, but it tastes really good to me. Has anyone else noticed this?
Then I went back to the laundry room to pick up my clothes. The view from the laundry room is really pretty. Makes me jealous, but I really do love my room. Especially when it’s clean!
Not even 5 minutes after I got my laundry all put away, my sister called saying she and Andrew were there.
Once my parents got there, we went to dinner. We went to a nice little Italian restaurant (which actually isn’t so little anymore) that I love.
I started out with a salad, which had a little too much dressing for me.
Then I had too many pieces of this bread, but it was just so soft and so amazing.
For my entre, I ordered grilled tilapia on wheat rigatoni with basil pesto. This was good, but not as good as my mom’s home made pesto, of course. I ate all of the tilapia, and about half of the pasta.
After, I had some vanilla bean ice cream with sprinkles. I ate most of it, then let my dad finish it (once all the sprinkles were gone). I had my mom take a picture of me holding it, but for some reason I wasn’t looking at the camera (and also, Andrew was giving me bunny ears), so you’ll just have to imagine it ;-)
Thanks so much for everyone’s advice on my last post. I loved hearing everyone’s insight on the subject. You all are the best!
It was really such a fun day. I loved showing everyone the apartment, and walking around town. Thanks for visiting, Emily+ Andrew & mom+dad!
