I didn’t post yesterday, partially because I got home really late, and partially because I wanted to say something about September 11, and I just couldn’t find the right words. My heart still races whenever I think about that day, my eyes well up whenever someone talks about it. Being 12 at the time, I was just getting to the age when you realize there are scary things out there in the world, and to have something that scary happen was just unbelievable and overwhelming. Obviously, I still don’t have the right words today, but just know I was thinking about it yesterday, and everyone who was affected by it, and am so thankful for everyone who serves to make me feel as safe and secure as I possibly can.
Breakfast yesterday was simple, but included my last POM sample from POM Wonderful.
I had some vanilla yogurt with a banana.
And this POMx Chocolate Iced Coffee. This was my favorite drink from POM. Delicious and creamy.
All together, it was a great breakfast.
After class, I had a quick lunch of leftovers before cleaning up a little around the apartment and then packing up and heading home.
We went out for dinner to Taco Mac. I had a tilapia sandwich with fries which were wonderful but not exactly JENN blog-worthy.
Since Mom and I were getting our hair done today during lunchtime, we decided to have a brunch before we left.
We had turkey sausage, grits, eggs (which I topped with ketchup), and a piece of toasted homemade banana bread (with no nuts!).
After getting our hair done, we stopped by Super H on the way home to get some produce for the week. Of course, we had some samples. I could never turn down a rice cake!
Dinner was hearty and scrumptious. I’m sorry if the green mashed potatoes look gross (my mom said they did), but at least they tasted good to me. Mom made the mashed potatoes from scratch, then I chopped up some steamed broccoli and mixed it together. I honestly don’t like plain broccoli, so this was my solution. I think this would be fun for kids.
I also had filet mignon and sautéed onions. Everything was cooked perfectly.
After dinner, I has some juicy and sweet cantaloupe.
Tomorrow will be a hectic day with driving back to school and doing homework. Two-day weekends are much too short!
Gotta go do some reading and take some notes for Education.
